God is not mocked

Scripture tells us that God is not mocked.

Yesterday's random gave words to that effect from Revelation 20.

  • 4 Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. 5 The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection.6 Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.

Today's random tells us that today's events are not a surprise to God.

Am I wrong, or does this apply today?

Wow,this seems so applicable today ...

Nehemiah 5  and Romans 4  seem new and fresh, some scales must be falling.

Voting is today.  Hopefully we will heed both of the above.

Breakfast this morning

Must have picked up a bug a school yesterday,  I had a thorough house cleansing from one end to the other last night.  Don't think I should share it.  I tried casting the lot to justify attending the breakfast but the Lord said no to that idea.

Reminder - breakfast 8AM this morning blue gym behind Hickory Flat Fellowship Church.

Here is my 'Random Bible Study' for this morning.

Here is the NT link-

Try the speaker button in the gray bar labeled Matthew 8 when you get there.  A stress free way to feed on the Word.

Fortifying The Body

Memorization and repetition is a good thing.  Times are coming when we will need to know it and not have the time or capability to look it up.

The Lord gave me this flash card today ...

As The Spirit Moves

This blog is posted periodically,  as the Spirit moves.

Today's 'random' is

and

Ephesians 2 (ESV)

One in Christ

11 Therefore remember that at one time you Gentiles in the flesh, called “the uncircumcision” by what is called the circumcision, which is made in the flesh by hands— 12 remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. 14 For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility 15 by abolishing the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man in place of the two, so making peace, 16 and might reconcile us both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility.17 And he came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near. 18 For through him we both have access in (AT)one Spirit to the Father. 19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone,21  in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord. 22 In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.

Sounds familiar

Today's 'random',  Judges 2, took place a short while after Israel come through the Red Sea experience.  That was quite a while ago but the story sounds familiar,  especially if you have seen the movie "Monumental".  Emphasis mine ...

The Death of Joshua

When Joshua dismissed the people, the people of Israel went each to his inheritance to take possession of the land. And the people served the Lord all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders who outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great work that the Lord had done for Israel. And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the Lord, died at the age of 110 years. And they buried him within the boundaries of his inheritance in Timnath-heres, in the hill country of Ephraim, north of the mountain of Gaash. 10 And all that generation also were gathered to their fathers. And there arose another generation after them who did not know the Lord or the work that he had done for Israel.

We love God and obey His commandments

1 John 5:1-5

English Standard Version (ESV)

Overcoming the World

Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

Noteable quote

Works of love directed to one’s neighbour are the most perfect external manifestation of the interior grace of the Spirit: “The foundation of the New Law is in the grace of the Holy Spirit, who is manifested in the faith which works through love”.

Resurrection Out of Zion

Today's 'random' is a yesterday, today, and tomorrow thing.

The picture of Luke 24 is over yesterday -  Zion's altar.

It is connected to today because Joanne & I attend Resurrection .

Though we couldn't attend the closing service of Zion,  we look forward to the tomorrow when we meet in the air with all the saints to gather with Jesus in his glorious victory.

Fittingly,  the OT 'random' was the Passover,  the foretaste of things to come.

Without Grumbling

A good word today from the 'random'

14 Do all things without grumbling or disputing, 15 that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world, 16 holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.

Phillipians 2

And more on grumbling at

Exodus 17

All things new

And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son. But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”
